9 Steps To Creating Your Perfect Kitchen Cabinetry

1. Let’s talk about your plans.

Building a new home? Bring your floor plans to our factory in Avondale and we can start from there. If you’re renovating, it’s best that we come out and see the space. At this initial meeting it’ll be a big help if you show us any images or features you’ve found in home design magazines or online.

2. Tell us your budget

It doesn’t have to be down to the last cent – but more of a broad indication – for example, “in the $12,000 to $15,000 range”. Knowing this, along with your “Must Haves”, we can come back to you with the right options – usually within a week of our initial meeting.

3. Make tweaks to the plan and agree to the quote.

We’ll be in touch once you’ve had a few days to mull over the plans and pricing to discuss any changes you’d like to make to the design. Once the layout has been finalised we’ll provide you a fixed price quote.

4. Push the Go Button.

You’re happy with the design and price. So now it’s time for us to get underway. At this stage we will require a deposit of 45% of the quoted price.

5. Time to build your Cabinetry – and get your appliances.

Here’s where we start building all of your cabinetry – and you purchase all of your new appliances (if you haven’t already done so). As part of the cabinetry build process we often need the appliances here in the factory so we can ensure everything fits.

At this stage we’ll give you an indication of the date your kitchen will be installed.

While all this is happening you or your builder will need to arrange the plumbing, gas fitting (if needed) and electrical work. We’ll have provided you with accurate scale drawings that the sub trades can work from.

If organising various tradespeople is outside your comfort zone, we’re happy to manage all of this for you for a small charge.

6. Your kitchen cabinetry is installed!

Depending on the size of the job, the installation will take around two days. Please ensure that the space is clean and all the other tradespeople (electricians, gas fitters etc) have completed their work so the new units can be installed. Prior to delivery you’ll receive an invoice for a further 45% payment that needs to be paid before delivery of your item.

7.  Now to put in the bench tops…

Your cabinetry is all installed – now it’s time for the bench tops. Unless you’re having Formica bench tops, one of our bench top manufacturers will come and do some measurements. It usually takes 7 to 10 working days after the measure to manufacture and install.

8. …and complete those finishing touches (including Splash Backs).

Splash Backs can only be installed once everything else is in place. Nowadays they’re usually made from painted glass or porcelain tiles. Please allow 7 to 10 working days to produce a painted glass Splash Back – tiles usually only take a few days.

9. Your kitchen is complete.

Your new kitchen is all ready to enjoy! We’ll contact you to ensure you’re happy with everything we’ve done. That being the case, you’ll receive the final invoice for the last 10% of payment due.
